We are in 2021

The year 2020 was supposed the year that people are waiting for their 'special' occasions. A special date, special launching, special wedding... all kind of special. We are just planning, but Allah knows and gives better. It's the year that people will remember but in different ways. 

It is the year of reset.

Covid19 virus attacks the whole world. Some countries went through lockdown, restriction movement order, self-isolation and many other mechanisms to minimize the infection from one person to another. 

Beautiful face and makeup are now being replacing with the face mask whenever we go out. 

The house that we always use to sleep is now our 24/7 life. We live our lives in the house, not the office. 

The kids can see their parents most of the time, not just during wake up and bedtime. 

The fancy cars just stay in the garage or parking lots.

We are in the Year 2021. Cases in Malaysia is still 1000-2000+ daily. Some already gave up. Some thought Covid-19 is just a conspiracy. 

Whatever your thought is, the disease is real. The front-liners who are working, leaving their family behind are real. They are not just leaving their house and take care of covid19 patients for fun or just because of their job. The job can be done without 'heart and soul'. 

The year 2020 teach us a lot of things. Be grateful for what we have. A good car is important, but a house is important too - basic human needs. Basic cooking knowledge is important - we can order from Grab and Food Panda but sometimes, the home cook is the best. If married, a good spouse is crucial to support mental and physical health. 

However, adaptation to the situation is an important action that we must do. It helps to stabilize our emotion and needs.

Overall, I like this BB Cushion because it is affordable and the quality is acceptable. I purchase it directly from Korea through Lazada Mall, Lazada Korea Mall. In term of price, it is very affordable, which around RM24-35 (depends on current sale promotion) for 15g. I purchased during a special sale by Lazada. 

The packaging colour is white. The weight is light and well sealed. It comes together with a cushion as the applicator. There is no refill comes together with the purchase. 

The application coverage is okay. It covers flaws and uneven tone. I can use this product without using concealer and I am ready to go out. The best thing when I apply this product is my skin feel moisten instantly. I feel like there is a water layer absorbs well into my skin. My skin type is dry. It suits me well. My face does not feel dry at all even after 5 hours of applying this product. This product gives glow satin finishing which is very suitable for dry skin type.

1. Allah uji dengan perasaan takut - Takut miskin, takut hilang orang kita sayang, takut susah - macam-macam bentuk ketakutan.

2. Allah uji dengan perasaan lapar - Dulu tak mampu beli, tapi nak makan. Sekarang dah mampu beli, tapi tak boleh makan - penyakit.

3. Allah uji dengan kehilangan harta - kebakaran, hilang barang.

4. Allah uji dengan kehilangan nyawa - kematian.

5. Allah uji dengan buah-buahan tidak menjadi - kerugian.


Apabila kita diuji, sebutlah Innalillah (Sesungguhnya kami datang daripada Allah, dan kepada Allah lah kami dikembalikan) - cara Allah nak betulkan kita supaya kita kembali kepada Allah.

Adab melawat orang sakit.

1. Jangan makan depan orang sakit, jangan makan di rumah orang sakit. - pahala ziarah tiada.

2. Jangan sebut mengenai kematian depan orang sakit. Tambah kesedihan.

3. Jaga mata.

4. Jangan duduk lama-lama ketika ziarah (kecuali kaum kerabat).

5. Tidak semua sakit perlu ziarah.

Semester 1 2020 2021 - MCO

This semester is the second semester that we are having our class online. The first semester was a bit challenging since all of us are partially ready for the online session at home. I am teaching the Mobile Application Development course for lectures and labs, and Machine Learning course for labs. 2 different courses using 2 different ways of writing the codes. 

I have my classes in the morning and afternoon. I have no comments on that. There is no specific best time to teach and learn because it can happen when we have an interest.

As for the second week, I am happy with my classes and labs. As a lecturer, I set the rules, and I follow the rule. I prepared the housekeeping notes for the online lecture just to ensure everyone is on the same page. If the class started at 9.00am, I will ensure that I am ready with the MS Teams meeting at 8.55am. Create the meeting, remind on WhatsApp to join the class. I take their attendance in every session. In UNITEN, we have a QR Code system. It is very cool. The lecturer generates the QR code, the students scan the code using UNITENLife app. This code is valid within the class session only. Then I cross-check their attendance with my registered list just to ensure there are no missing participants. 

Never kill their momentum in learning. 

I attended a few online training sessions. Some lectures may cause me to lose focus. I understand that my students also may experience that. They are just a normal human being. I always interact with my students during the lecture. I am lucky because they responded to my query. In making the teaching more attractive, I have made a quick quiz to recap the chapter covered for that day. They enjoy it.

We are in 2020

We are in 2020. The year that expected to be like the normal years. Everyone goes to work, get paid every month, facing traffic jam every day, every week there are newly married couples and many other normal routines.

Today is the 1st of April 2020. Day 15 we are staying at home - Restricted Movement Order (RMO).

Early this year, Wuhan, China was attacked by a virus. This virus attacks the respiratory system, the lung - COVID19. This virus spread throughout the world including Malaysia. Due to safety reasons, the government have ordered the RMO. Only some businesses are allowed to operate physically. This includes hypermarket, market, mini market, hospitals, petrol stations and courier services. Others, you can still run your work but in online mode.

Initially, the RMO period is 14 days. Due to the increasing number of people affected, the government have decided to extend it for another 2 weeks.

In my university, we are still working as usual. All classes are conducted virtually. All materials are online from the beginning. But now we have to extend the deliverables into online, video recording - previously face-to-face.

I personally enjoy working from home. I don't have to face the traffic, I save a lot in my petrol and tolls. I have time to cook my meals at all time. This saves a lot of money.

But what comes to my concern is the groceries. People are queuing everywhere including Tesco and market. Whole online groceries are fully booked until the end of the month. We are not allowed to cross the district (without any valid reason) anymore. Just buy what we have in our area.

The front liners are doing their best. We just have to stay at home to break the virus chain. The front liners struggle to keep up with the number of patients and controlling the crowd. We are at home also keep up with our rationality. I admit, sometimes I do feel emotionally distracted and stress by just staying at home.

I keep on reminding myself, I am working from Monday-Friday, 8.00am - 5.15pm. Please allocate my working time well. Recently, I tend to overwork until night time - not good. At the end of the day, family matters. Spend more time with our family.

Well, it is time to survive.

Resepi Ayam Goreng Kicap Kering dengan Kentang


Bahan-bahan utama:
1/2 ekor Ayam dipotong kecil
3 ketul Ubi kentang yang dihiris nipis
Serbuk Kunyit

Sos Perapan:
3 sudu sos tiram
2 sudu sos pedas (boleh guna sos char kuetiau)
2 sudu kicap masin
1 sudu teh lada putih

Bahan-bahan Tumis:
1 ulas bawang putih dititik
1 ulas bawang merah dihiris nipis
4 sudu bawang blend
1 cawan air asam jawa
Minyak 
Garam

Bahan-bahan hiasan:
Cili merah

Cara memasak:
Lumur kentang dengan sedikit garam.
Panaskan minyak.
Goreng kentang sampai kuning keemasan.
Angkat kentang dari kuali dan Ketepikan.

Lumur ayam dengan garam, kunyit dan lada putih.
Goreng sampai kuning keemasan.
Angkat ayam dari kuali dan Ketepikan.
Gaulkan ayam dengan sos tiram, kicap masin dan kicap pedas.

Tumis bawang putih dan bawang merah yg dihiris sampai separuh garing.
Masukkan bawang blend. Masak selama 5 minit.
Masukkan ayam yang telah dilumur tadi. Masak selama 5 minit sampai ayam nampak telah sebati dengan kicap.
Masukkan lebihan bahan perap kicap tadi dan hirisan cili merah ke dalam kuali.
Campurkan air asam jawa.
Gaul rata sampai mendidih.
Masukkan kentang yang telah digoreng tadi.
Sedia untuk dihidang. 
Seeloknya kalau terlebih minyak, buang dulu minyak berlebihan sebelum dihidang.

Resepi Kari Ketam

Bahan-bahan:
2 ekor ketam dipotong
1 ulas bawang putih dihiris
1 ulas bawang merah dihiris
1 tangkai daun kari
1 sudu halba campur
4 sudu serbuk kari ikan/udang/ketam Mak Siti
1 sudu serbuk cili
1 kotak santan
1 biji tomato dipotong 6
1 tangkai cili merah dipotong 3
4 tangkai cili padi
4 tangkai kacang bendi
2 cawan air
2-3 sudu teh garam
Sedikit gula
Minyak untuk menumis

Cara memasak:
Panaskan minyak.
Tumiskan bawang putih, bawang merah, daun kari, halba campur. Goreng sampai perang (naik bau wangi)
Masukkan serbuk kari yang telah dibancuh dengan 1 cawan air.
Tumis sampai pecah minyak.
Tambahkan air.
Masukkan ketam, tomato, cili merah, cili padi, kacang bendi. Biarkan sampai mendidih.
Masukkan santan, garam, gula. Biarkan sampai mendidih.
Sedia untuk dihidang.

Resepi Pengat Pisang


Bahan-bahan:
5 ketul pisang berangan dipotong kecil
3 sudu gula merah
1 sudu teh garam
1 helai daun pandan
3/4 kotak santan
3 cawan air

Cara memasak:
Panaskan air
Masukkan gula merah. Biar sampai larut.
Masukkan pisang. 
Rebus selama 3-5 minit.
Masukkan garam, daun pandan, santan.
Masak sampai mendidih.
Sedia untuk dihidang.

Resepi Daging Goreng Kentang (Kering)


Bahan-bahan utama:
300gram Daging yang dihiris nipis
3 ketul Ubi kentang yang dihiris nipis

Sos Perapan:
3 sudu sos tiram
2 sudu sos pedas (boleh guna sos char kuetiau)
2 sudu kicap masin
1 sudu serbuk halia
1/2 sudu teh gula

Bahan-bahan Tumis:
1 ulas bawang putih dititik
1 ulas bawang merah dihiris nipis
3 sudu bawang blend

Bahan-bahan hiasan:
Cili merah

Cara memasak:

  1. Perapkan daging dengan sos perapan selama 5-10 minit.
  2. Panaskan minyak. Goreng ubi kentang sampai garing. Angkat dan tos minyak.
  3. Tumis bawang putih, hirisan bawang sampai separuh garing.
  4. Gunakan minyak bekas ubi kentang tadi. Masukkan bawang blend dan daging yang telah diperap ke dalam kuali. Jangan masukkan air lebihan perapan lagi. 
  5. Goreng sampai kering dan daging bertukar warna sedikit gelap. 
  6. Bancuhkan lebihan sos perapan tadi dengan sedikit air. 
  7. Masukkan ke dalam kuali bersama daging yang telah sedikit garing. 
  8. Tambah sedikit garam jika perlu.
  9. Masukkan cili merah dan ubi kentang yang telah digoreng tadi.
  10. Gaul rata. 
  11. Sedia untuk dihidang.
