Sweet n sour deal by Malaysia Airlines (MAS)

Last 4 days, I have received a newsletter from MAS. I usually do not bother about what ever newsletter comes in. But on that day,  I was 'accidentally' clicked on that email and I saw "Penang from MYR238 (return)".

EH........ 238.... /2..... wow. (why /2? return flight) 

I clicked on the lovely purple BOOK NOW button with an excited-heart-beating rhythm.

The best deal is from MYR51. How cheap is that for a trip with MAS air-plane! I was too excited enuf. But... how about the tax and fuel surcharges? It costs me just a little bit (2 to 3 ringgit) higher than my flight ticket. My brother did asked me to check with the other air-plane service... our favourite one, Firefly. I have selected the same date and time, and guess how much does this company is going to charge me... 2 times of the total cost of this (MAS) return flight sweet deal. That is not sweet at all!

Maybe some you've said... why don't I choose Air Asia?

I proceed with the booking process with MAS. Everything went smoothly until....

Payment.

Declined.

Reason 1: Address of the credit card billing is not valid.

I have corrected and resubmit.

Reason 2: Credit card number field is empty

I have corrected and resubmit.

Reason 3: Address of the credit card billing is not valid. Attempted maximum ... .... Please contact our call centre 1300883000.

With my prepaid balance RM1.20, I make a call to the call center.

I have to wait for 2 minutes for their FOC advertisements (while I am paying for the phone bill), and another waiting time was for a few level of options list until I reach the option to talk with the operator (which is none until I key-in the invalid button). When I did managed to talk to the operator, the first thing that I have said, 

"Hi, I am Shakirah, I have a problem with my booking tix but my prepaid is about to finished. Boleh tak you call I semula?"

Mr. Operator: Sorry puan, kita tak ada service untuk call pelanggan.

Me: Ok fine. I ...... bla bla bla.....

Mr. Operator: Puan guna browser apa?

Me: Chrome

Mr. Operator: Ok, puan booking lagi sekali guna Internet Explorer or Firefox.

Me: Then nanti I kene charge 2 times.

Mr. Operator: Tidak puan. Sebab tadi payment declined.... *call ended*

What.....?! Not nowwwwwwww.

Using Internet Explorer, the process was not that fast. I have to repeat the same process again with this crawling-browser. A...ha! Inside the Payment page, fields displayed in Internet Explorer were slightly different from Chrome. With just one click (and correct input), the payment has successfully made!

My feeling is mixing between excited, happy for this great deal and also annoyed with system. What ever it is, bare in mind that there is no harm to subscribe newsletter from certain organisations. You will be updated if there is any promotion.

Modus Operandi yang agak baru untuk samun/mencuri kereta

Sebelum  ini kita telah mendengar bermacam-macam cara yang dilakukan oleh penyangak-penyangak yang *tuuuuttt*. Semalam, 17 May 2012, di highway KL-Seremban (area kedai perabot besar tu),  my brother almost get trap dengan penyamun ni. Masa tu, he was driving kat lane biasa (tengah2). Then, ada 1 motorsikal ni riding by 2 Indian guy keep on honking and giving 'rolling' sign - macam tayar kereta pancit.

What will you do if you are in this situation?
A. OMG... I should stop. Thank you so much Mr. for caring so much about me.
B. Cry. WTH this people want.
C. Hold your steering, 'feel' your car. Once confirmed kereta tak drag ke kiri or kanan..... just speed up n left them behind.
D. Emergency brake and let them eat your buntut (car's).

My brother has chosen C. Speed trap pun speed trap lah. rather than kene samun n membahayakan nyawa. Then dia singgah di next petrol station and check his tyre... semua okay!

Dear friends, my family and myself, please pay extra careful especially kalau driving sorang2. Orang jahat ramai kat luar sana tu. Relax, and think rational! Dont panic.

Later, I will share another story mengenai operasi orang2 busuk otak ni yang I have experienced sendiri but luckily, Allah is with me and my family.

Majlis Sanjungan Budi Lambaian Kasih SKBA

Budi disanjung, sambil melambai dengan penuh kasih… bukan kasihan

Wah wah wah… sungguh puitis nama majlis ni.

Majlis ini diadakan bersempena persaraan Guru Besar dan PK1 sekolah mak. (Eh.. apesal lak aku sebok join ni? Ans.: Mak perlukan assistant.) Majlis ini diadakan di Ixora Hotel, Perai. (Bersebelahan dengan Megamall Penang and exit ke jambatan Pulau Pinang).

Semasa majlis berlangsung, sempat jugak bersembang dengan salah seorang pengurus hotel tersebut. Menurut beliau, hotel ini baru mula beroperasi secara rasmi pada November 2011. (no wonder their interior design sangat exclusive and nampak baru and beautiful!). Hotel ni boleh mempunyai 350 rooms. Not bad huh! (I have forgotten to ask him rate bilik disini berapa :((  )

While walking to the function room, I saw ada banyak bilik untuk meeting/seminar/discussion and also there is one ballroom. Sangat besarrrrr and of coz cantik (ok2… patik mengaku i was skodeng this room).

Tema hidangan malam tu is Chinese foods… which means no spicy thingy and most of them tawar2 and based on kicap cair. Okla2… HEALTHY foods! But I think instead of having udang masak kunyit, they should serve butter prawn – baru la betul2 Chinese cuisine. But I do love their desserts especially puding jagung dengan gula merah (reka sendiri kombinasi ni sebab it suppose gula merah makan dengan puding sagu). Sedap sangat. And I love puding jagung yg texture soft mcm ni.

Off topic sket pasal toilet… I just went there untuk touch up. But then I saw ramai cikgu-cikgu balik from toilet dengan baju/handbag yang basah. WHy why whY? o_O Kat sini jugak disediakan surau. So kalau nk buat function apa2 memang senang sebab ada kemudahan semua ni. But I risau psal parking. Just ada 1 floor je kalu tak silap. How HOW how? (correct me if Im wrong)

Ayai & Tuty’s Big Day

Lately lama xberblogging sangat sebab laptop problem n busy with so many things. Ok.. back to the wedding. Ayai’s my former bachelor-mate masa di UNITEN. Our age sama. We’re born in 1988. If you all ingat, sebelom ni saya penah post pasal

My 3 good friends are getting married on the same day

As promised, I have attended his reception day. Turun KL semata-mata nak attend his wedding. Kalau tak, nanti putus kawan.. wuuhuhuhuhu T_T and I am honored to be invited :D

Tetamu2 dah di set untuk table yg tertentu. Mine was purple zone num 6. Naseb baik sama dengan Sha (Sha… turun Penang). Dah lama sangat tak meet her. I was arrived quite early (dalam kol 7.30pm) and masa tu tak ramai lagi tetamu and dewan still lengang. Tak kan lah nak duduk sorang2 kan. I have decided to stay outside while waiting for Sha and her parents. Masa stay kat luar tu I saw there are many VIP guests especially from TNB.

We have been set dengan 8 other peoples yang awesome. Thank God that night wasn’t a night mare. The person next to us was Laila Hana and Husband. I can’t remember when was the last time I talked to her but she’s very nice and I love to hear her story about her new baby. The other 5? I don’t know them but they are good.

Around 8.30pm, Here comes the gorgeous bride and groom.

Me and Sha suka sangat dengan baju pengapit tu. Lawa k! and our table position is PERFECT. I love the pelamin and the decorations. It’s simple and sweet but meriah.

During that night, I have meet a few others CS geng; Hanafi and Armi. Both of them dengan pasangan masing-masing.

Finally baru boleh bersemuka dengan pasangan mempelai ni. I keep on saying to ayai – muka dorg seiras. InshaAllah jodoh berpanjangan. anyway ayai, sorry I can’t wait until photo shoot session sebab my parents dah sampai to fetch me.

Doli Koey Teow Goreng Taiping

Last few weeks, my father’s friend has invited us to dine here. The specialty of this restaurant is their fried ‘Koey Teow’ – Superb sedap!

 

The place is quite cozy and equipped with air-conditioner. Thank Allah that night tak ramai sangat. Maybe sebab hujan kot.

Here is their menu. Harga yang ditawarkan adalah sangat berpatutan.

Sangat sedap and sangat kaya dengan udang dan kerang. I love it so much sebab every bites for sure akan ada udang or kerang.

I have also tried this Mee Kari (RM4.00)

The curry is yummy. They are also provide this meal together with sambal. So if you prefer lebih pedas, you may add it into your curry.

 

So, for those yang nak datang ke Doli, waktu perniagaan adalah 12.00pm – 11.00pm. Ia dibuka setiap hari kecuali Jumaat.
Eh... sama lak ngan tulisan kat atas tu.

Lokasi? Ia terletak berdekatan dengan Taman Tasik Taiping. Alaaa tak berapa ingat sangat sebab pegi waktu malam and hujan. But I know this place sangat dekat ngan tasik tu.

P.S.: Dear brother, balik nanti kita mai makan sini na.

The place is so lovely and sangat sesuai untuk celebration or for a couple to have their own sweet moment.

It has been a year

30 October 2011 - It has been a year since I had my 1st flight, 1st time to go to the overseas, 1st time I feel I am leaving my most precious gifts in Malaysia.

OMG... how should I proceed with this writing when my eyes are filled with tears. During that last day in Malaysia, I was excited + happy. Siapa yang tak happy to get the opportunity to study and live in the overseas + it's during winter season.
But...
I forgot that...

• I was travelling ALONE - 1st experience + LONE RANGER!
• I am the 'GPS' in my family (yes.. they were sesat masa OTW balik)

During this time, I keep on thinking about negative thing which I don't want to list it out here. I will totally put the blame on me if something happen to them. After a few minutes, I keep myself calm. I pray for their safety and I hope Allah will protect them and keep them safe. I said to myself, how bad my feeling worrying about them, they feel more worry about me. Again I repeat... I was travelling alone!

Guess what, I was smiling while taking this picture. Masa ni pk seronok + excited je.

I would like to make a confession, I cried non-stop since my final huggy wuggy time with my family. (It was the 1st time I felt the 'real' hugs from emak, ayah, and my brother... WHY it does happen masa nak fly? :/)

I passes the immigration, customs gate with huge cries! Masa lepas the 1st gate, on my way to aerotrain, I feel like to lari back and tak nak fly. Things that stop me from doing it are; my parents have PAID for the flight ticket, I have to WORK there, FRANCE GOVERNMENT has arranged everything for me, I am carrying the RESPONSIBILITY from my supervisor, mine and my family's DIGNITY, I want to keep myself AWAY from peoples that hurt me a lot here. This is one of the thing that I am able to do - study in France!

Dah la kene 2-3 times kena lalu gate, scan, tanggal beg, bukak beg laptop. I still remember ada sorang pegawai perempuan tu senyum je when she saw me crying. I stopped nanges masa jalan masuk dalam flight. Cari tempat.

Then dah pakai seat belt semua, I read buku doa yg emak bekal kan. During in the airport, she sempat mark some of the pages yang penting untuk dibaca. I have started to cry again while reading that book. Masa tu... I was looking outside of the mirror n rasa nak terjun je. Maybe this is one of the reason tingkap kapal terbang is sealed!

Whatever it is, that was such a great memory I have ever had. It makes me appreciate and love my family more!

"You will never appreciate what you have until you lose it!" - Eat that words Shakirah! Thank Allah these 'gifts' are taken away within just for 2 months. I believe everything is happening for a reason.

Until now, I feel phobia when my parents are sending me to the airport. Walaupun hanya pergi ke KL, the feeling tu rasa macam nak fly jauh je.

Dear Emak, ayah, and Bae, I LOVE 3 of you so much!

Sha… turun Penang

Sha? ShaKIRAH?

No No No… She is SHArifah Amalina. This activity terjadi dah lama… June 2011. Tapiiii… I have just found the folder utk upload gambar-gambar.

I am so missed her after a long time tak jumpe. One day, this lovely lady kene outstation. and the best part is the location… Penang! wehoooo! I am so excited to meet her. I was definitely said Yes when she asked me to sleep over. A lot of things to be chatted. During that night, I fetched her from the hotel (island) and we came to main land to taste Mee Udang Sungai Dua.

Sha is always with jus tembikai. Since she was in UNITEN. Remember x sha u penah order tembikai susu (Honey dew) tapi abg tropik bagi tembikai merah + susu. LOL!

Sha’s colleague Eleanor. She’s having Mee Udang tak nak udang. Ganti dengan daging.  She's funny and easy going! Owh yes... she's former UNITEN student!

I was enjoying Nasi Goreng Udang. FEVERET all the time!

 

After done with our late meal… we went back to the island. I was ‘forcing’ them to enjoy the Penang Bridge because the speed limit on it is 80km/hr (1st half) then 70km/hr. Speed trap people!

Then we reached to this luxury hotel…

This hotel has many wings. We were staying at Executive wing. Far… far… away.

Good morning Penang!

Sha and her friend went to the down stairs to have their breakfast before the event starts. Then she called and asked me to join them.

There was toooooooo many choices! I dont know where to start… plus kenyang lagi dinner semalam.

The best-est meal is this omelet cheese. It is a normal omelet, but i did the customization on the filling;

mozzarella cheese, capsicum, chicken ham, chicken sausage

Sangat sedap and sangat kenyang lepas makan ni.

After I have done with breakfast, I had a morning walk around the hotel + enjoying the scenery.

They have a very beautiful swimming pool, fish pond.

I cant just jumped into random floor. This card is only valid for the room’s floor. But why do they didnt make it to just slot-in and it will automatically go to the right floor.

Finally I managed to go to the right floor. Thanks sha for replied to my text. Owh pillow sweet pillow.

Anyway… I had a great time and experience there. Thanks for inviting me to sleep over and enjoy the accommodation.

Review on Equatorial Hotel Penang (Island) :

This is a great 5 stars hotel. I believe for every cent you pay for the room is really worth it. The location is on top of a hill, near to the Penang Airport and Penang Bridge. In terms of facilities, privacy, safety... All you can get here. I believe you have to stay more than a day to spend all day long with the facilities. Just you, your family and the hotel!
